2/15/2011 is the last day of my Subscription to WAR.
I will not resub.
I have several purposes for writing this post, mostly because I'm sitting here drinking a coffee after spending the last 2 hours working on some new Music and throwing snowballs at my Dog realizing that all the time I have spent playing this game was silly. But Fun silly. Now that I think in many people's opinions this game has run it's course. I carried a blog about this game, I spent many hours laughing and joking around with people from all over the World on Vent or in the game's chat channels.
This was an excellent game. But the game is somewhat a drug. I think that's the goal, to offer you such outlandishly fun times as to make you keep pumping money into their pockets. Hey, afterall $15 is not a lot of money and in fact most of you young pups spend more then that in 1 hour at the bar on any given night or for lunch for you and a friend. $15 is a reasonable price, in fact a cheap price.
My motivations for leaving are that I no longer feel the motivation to keep pouring my spare time into a game that in reality isn't going anywhere that I'm willing to follow. Sure, it would have been great to have reached RR90 or higher and have all that epic gear and just rizzelstomp bitches and have a good time doing it, in reality I'll partly miss not being able to do it past the 15th.
However, it has run it's course. I have decided that Rift is worth a try because... what is $100 anyway (game order couple months of giving it a shot) for some more laughs and fun with some iFriends that I've made the last two years? I fact I am looking forward to the opportunity to play with people who I have been trying to Kill for the last 2 years non-stop.
WAR was my First real MMO, and before it I never understood the alure of this game genre and now I do. However, like all good things they do come to an end. I'm not selling my account because who knows that in 6 months time I might choose to play on a more casual level when everyone is in warpforge and I cannot compete due to the gear.

Until the 15th I will still be playing and I'll be out there trying to whoop ass as best I can (for whatever that's worth).
